Who is making history now?
A teacher, an engineer, a farmer, a nurse, a physicist, a coder, a coach, a mayor, a founder.
History has never checked a title at the door.
A generation of Africans won this continent its freedom, and none of that is in question here. The task now is different: making things work. We look for the people already doing it, and write it down while they are still in the middle of it.
What got Africa here will not get Africa there.
Winning a country is not the same problem as making one work. It asks for different capabilities, and nobody has written the manual.
The argument is not that the last generation failed. It is that the next one has been handed a different problem.
Five things, in order, for as long as it takes.
Find Africans whose work would survive a hard look. Not the famous. The consequential.
Record their story in their own words, with the evidence, the dates, and their permission to keep it for good.
Go underneath the inspiring version. What did they see that others missed? What did it cost? What failed?
Turn what we learn into something usable by the people who may make history next.
Put people who have done difficult things in the same room as people about to attempt them.
